Kindness is a quality that most of us are conditioned to display from a young age. We love to see people show it, and feel good when expressing it ourselves. That said, we rarely recognise it as a form of wellness. Society immerse us with complex scientific and medical solutions to a range of ailments. Whilst this has been fundamental in curing several illnesses, it also means we often forget the basic things we can do to take care of ourselves, defaulting instead to prescribed drugs. With this in mind, I wanted to talk to you all about one of the most effective wellbeing strategies I know – adopting a positive mindset.
Kindness and Wellness
I am more than aware it is easier to say this than to do it. I also want to clarify that I am not suggesting everyone throw caution to the wind and adopt a Pollyanna attitude of “Everything will be alright”. However, I firmly believe that we must take steps to improve things. The best part is that you can start as small as you like; minor changes go an incredibly long way.
When we take the time to embrace our feel-good emotions, it provokes a range of positive reactions in our bodies. Your thinking becomes much more creative, integrative, flexible, and we are much more susceptible to information. You can recognise these effects not only within the brain, but rather on a holistic level. Your positive emotions have proven capable of enhancing psychological and physical resilience.
Something I find compelling is that kindness touches everyone; the giver, the receiver and even witnesses of your interaction. I love the idea that a simple act of kindness has an incredible ‘ripple effect’. I am always reminded of the Metta Meditation technique (a way of really developing our capacity for unconditional loving-kindness) when talking about the ripple effect. This is a technique that I am eager to delve into in the future.
In the meantime, for more exclusive advice, particularly regarding Metta Meditation, visit my website, or reach out on one of my platforms. I adore hearing from you.
All my love,
Jayney

Jayney, one can always turn to you for that much needed breath of fresh air. These times continue to be troubling, disturbing, however your brand of sunshine has a way of penetrating the darkness to truly bring forth the light within oneself and gives us pause to find light in others when we are absolutely convinced it can’t be found. It’s all in the perspective, isn’t it? Thank you for this gentle and direct reminder.
Beautiful article Jayney really reminds us of the little things that mean so much .
